volti nel Volto: art, history and spirituality
The third edition of the exhibition ‘volti nel Volto’, created in 2022 in collaboration with the Albertina Academy of Fine Arts, will be on display in the tent set up by the Diocese of Turin on the occasion of the liturgical feast of the Shroud and the Jubilee Year.
The tent will be open in Piazza Castello from 28 April to 5 May, from 9am to 8pm. Visits are free of charge, but it is essential to book on the Avvolti website www.avvolti.org
The exhibition focuses on the image of the Shroud, the sacred cloth kept in Turin, which over the centuries has profoundly inspired the iconography of the Face of Christ. This image, imprinted by the suffering of the Passion, is placed in dialogue with the representations of the face of Jesus over the centuries and with the image of Divine Mercy, which illuminates the mystery of the Resurrection.
‘volti nel Volto’ is an invitation to rediscover the authentic sense of beauty, redeemed suffering and hope, accompanying the journey of all those who wish to deepen the bond between faith, art and culture in our time.
